The Bible is fun and exciting.
These adjectives are two of the best to describe what can be found in the pages of the greatest book ever written. It is unfortunate that many people who love Jesus and have been a part of a biblical community for much of their lives would not use “fun” or “exciting” to describe the Book at the heart of their faith.
NewLook66 gets its name from the sixty-six books of God’s word and the idea that people who have a great love for God and His Son should perhaps take a closer look at the Scriptures they love so much. The great truths of faith that the church at large holds sacred and central are certainly unmistakable. These truths, however, are not just found in obvious ways in the Bible, but are woven throughout in some of the most intricate and fantastic ways ever conceived.
Jesus, Himself, said that all of the Scriptures tell of Him and He taught His disciples in that vein (Luke 24:27; John 5:39). How exciting it must have been to receive His teaching and have the confirmation that the events of Jesus’ life were exactly in line with all that God had been foretelling through His Spirit in His word for over a millennium.
By His Spirit’s leading us through that word, it is the conviction of NewLook66 that we have access to that same excitement. God wants us to understand what it means for His word to be “alive and active” and exciting (Hebrews 4:12).
